Where to stay in Riquewihr, Alsace? The Dove's Nest**** is without any doubt one of the most beautiful, charming and comfortable place to stay and available for holiday rental in Alsace!
The Dove's Nest**** is actually a complete house organized to accommodate 4 persons. But on special occasions we have this special offer for a 2 persons occupancy. It means that only 1 bedroom of the house is accessible but all the other equipments and services are included: luxury self catering accommodation for 2 persons. A large romantic and elegant living space spreads over the first floor: lounge, kitchen and Alsacian 'stub' (dining room).
The Dove's Nest****, our romantic medieval house, is listed as a national heritage building (Monument Historique). It is embedded in the medieval rampart (built 1500) of Riquewihr, only some yards away of the famous fortified gates of the Obertor and the Dolder. On the mountainside, the medieval city wall is the western wall of the house. On the street side, it is an Alsacian traditional timber framed house. Decorated with great care and especially equipped for guests who seek holidays or a long weekend on the wine trail of Alsace, at the foot of the Vosges and a few minutes of Colmar only.
Living space occupies the whole intermediate level with living room, kitchen, Alsatian “stub” (the part where the meals are taken). The restoration largely made use of the traditional techniques with organic and healthy materials (untreated wood, natural paintings with lime wash…). Authentic polychrome pieces of furniture and fabrics in Alsatian kelsch contribute to make this small house a real jewel. The house combines charm and comfort and is able to allure - Summer as Winter - those which appreciate and privilege before all the refined and authentic places… The fully equipped kitchen is open towards the “stub” and makes it possible to be perfectly autonomous. But do not forget that the many ones and excellent restaurants of the village (some of them being listed in the Michelin Red Guide) - with an excellent value for money - are within walking distance.
